Doug Stewart, one of my biggest mentors and my dad, is on the show today to talk about some of the history of steelhead fly fishing on the Deschutes River.

Some topics really hit home with me especially as he talked about my grandpa and the comparisons between the two.  We talk about some of his big influences and how 30 years of guiding came to be in his life.

  1. Episode 31. Dave, I’ve listened to every episode to date so I know your style. How cool is it that you have the opportunity to interview your mentor; your dad? Super cool! Congratulations on honoring your heritage in such an awesome way!

    • Thanks Rob! I’ve had the interview with my dad on the list since the beginning and just couldn’t put it together. Then as season 1 was finishing up I had Frank Moore ready to roll. We talked on the phone and I was set to drive down there. Then life hit and I didn’t have time. It was a perfect fit to have my dad take the last steelhead episode of season 1. I’ll circle back around to steelhead in later seasons, but now we are heading for a little trout season. I hope it’s as good as the first season and as much fun. Thanks again for all of the support!
