Top 6 Fly Tying Tips by Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions
- When you’re whip-finishing a fly, make that knot truly efficient – whip-finish from back to front
- Seat that knot really well – take the thumb of your right hand – hook it against the hook-eye
- When you’re snipping your thread, put it under tension
- Watch other people tie to learn something new or learn how to do it better
- You have to see what you’re tying – use magnifiers if necessary
- Tie 15 flies and take 3 that aren’t as good – give them away for free
