In todays video I show you how to tie an Admiral Steelhead Pattern.  This traditional steelhead fly comes from Trey Combs book:  Steelhead Fly Fishing and Flies.

This fly is a steelhead version of the original tied by Eustace Rogers.  Take a look below for the material list.

The Admiral Material List

Tail:  Red hackle fibers

Body:  Red yarn or floss

Rib:  Medium oval tinsel

Hackle:  Red Hackle

Wing:  White calf tail or Bucktail

 

You can find The Admiral in Steelhead Fly Fishing and Flies by Trey Combs.  Trey notes that the original pattern was tied for rainbows but was used effectively for steelhead.
